Until now, if you had a photovoltaic system, you would send the excess energy production from the sun back to the grid, and then only use 80% for systems up to 10 kW (for systems over 10-50 kWp, only 70%). 1:1 balancing from Columbus will allow you to use 100% of what you’ve produced. With this solution, you gain even more independence. You fully own what you have invested in and what is yours. Remember, you receive energy in zone 2 of the G12 tariff. We have created an offer available to everyone throughout Poland. We have consultants and installers in every region of the country.
Photovoltaics
The principle of operation of the system is seemingly simple – the sun’s rays fall on photovoltaic panels, which convert them into clean energy. To be more precise, a photovoltaic system needs light, or rather – a carrier of electrical interactions, i.e. a photon, to work and produce energy. It is this particle that sets the electrons in motion to create the electrical voltage. The direct current from the photovoltaic panels travels to the inverter, where it is converted into alternating current, like the one in your outlet. Thanks to the higher voltage, the free electricity from the sun replaces the grid electricity in your house, while the surplus goes into the grid and starts to “balance”.
The planned annual energy yield is 1,000 kWh from 1 kWp, but it much depends on the location and insolation of the panels.
The panels produce energy even in cloudy and rainy weather, but your photovoltaic system is most efficient on sunny days. If, on a given day, your power production is not sufficient for your demand, you use the surplus energy fed into the grid.
The panels produce energy all year round, regardless of the weather, according to the prevailing weather conditions. The main production yield is from spring to autumn, and in winter we use the excess energy stored in the grid.
No. The photovoltaic system is practically completely maintenance-free. The system has no moving parts, so it is highly resistant to failures and does not need servicing. The panels also do not need to be washed or shovelled: dirt is washed away by rain and snow slides away under the influence of gravity. Operation of the system is done through a dedicated application. This allows you to check how your system works and how much electricity it produces from anywhere with internet access.
The Columbus offer includes:
MWT is an innovative photovoltaic technology. It replaces the silver bands present on the surface of the panels with a back conductive layer featuring bulk electrodes. Photovoltaic panels made with MWT technology are characterized by high performance, higher efficiency, low module degradation and lack of lead content.
HALF CUT is a module with links cut in half. In a typical module, based on silicon technology, there are 60 cells; in HALF CUT – 120. The half cells are chained together, resulting in the “half” having a similar current and voltage output to the “whole” system. The main advantage of Half Cut modules is more efficient operation in case of partial shading (e.g. leaves or snow); their construction also allows for lower heat losses due to power transmission.
Energy storage unit
Columbus offers Pylontech’s LiFePo storage units. Pylontech is a global pioneer in the energy storage market. Since 2013, the company has launched over 2 GWh of products in 50 countries. The company develops key technologies in-house: from cathode and lithium cell to energy storage system integration. Pylontech energy storage units stand for innovative design and trouble-free expansion.
An energy storage unit protects against power failure and optimises the energy consumption of the photovoltaic system.
The standard manufacturer’s warranty is 7 years. When you register your device at http://www.pylontech.com.cn/service/support, the warranty extends to 10 years free of charge.
Assuming a full charge/discharge cycle for 60% of the days in a year, for the US2000 model that allows at least 6,000 full charge cycles, the lifespan will be about 27 years with a minimum of 90% capacity.
Columbus offers storage units:
– for 1-phase systems: storage unit with capacity of 4.8 kWh (US2000)
– for 3-phase systems: storage unit with capacity of 7.1 kWh; 10.65 kWh, 14.2 kWh (Force H2).
In most cases, 3-10 kWh storage units work well in home systems, but ultimately it depends on the demand and the role the storage unit is to play.
By combining photovoltaics with energy storage, you can regulate your own energy consumption according to periodic demand, and store and use the surplus at a later time. The electricity delivered to the storage unit is returned to the electrical outlet when you need it.
Yes, of course! If your system fits the definition of a micro system and you meet the prosumer requirements, energy storage changes nothing. You can still send energy to the grid and receive it when you need it. Energy storage will increase the profitability of your system, as you can store the surplus produced, and only what can no longer be stored in the battery will be fed into the grid.
Heat pump
NIBE heat pumps are tailored to different types of heating needs, whether it is a small home, a large farm or a large commercial building. These units use the outside air as heat source and heat production is possible even when the outside temperature drops to -25°C. The outside air can be used for heating, domestic hot water and also for cooling. The use of NIBE heat pumps in heating systems enables savings of up to 80% compared with traditional heating systems.
The heat pump available from Columbus is multifunctional. When it is cold it will heat the house, in hot weather it can provide a pleasant chill, and all year round it will prepare domestic hot water.
The heat pump is powered by electricity, which is needed to operate the compressor and the heater. It is most cost-effective to supplement the system with a photovoltaic system that will provide free electricity to power the heat pump. This is beneficial not only for financial but also for environmental reasons.
The average lifespan of a heat pump, under normal use, is over 20 years.
The better insulated and more airtight the building envelope, the higher the efficiency of the unit. This means that it will be easier to heat a larger house after proper thermo-modernisation than a smaller one, but with poorer heat conduction parameters.
With a heat pump, it is most efficient to use low-temperature appliances – such as underfloor or wall heating. However, if your heating system is based on traditional radiators, don’t worry – you don’t have to replace them! We also offer high temperature heat pumps, which have a higher flow temperature and work well with older systems.
A heat pump is a maintenance-free appliance, there is no need to clean, fire up the stove or put fuel in. Operation of the pump is clean, quiet (approx. 39 dB) and completely emission-free.
The air pump works effectively when the temperature outside is low (even down to -25 degrees Celsius). This allows you to heat your home and water to the optimum temperature even in winter.
Our consultants will help you choose the right heat pump power. First, they will determine the total heat demand of the building and, based on the number and preferences of the occupants, the amount of energy needed for domestic hot water. Finally, they will ask you about any special requirements (such as a swimming pool).
Just like any heating device, heat pumps also require periodic service checks to operate properly. Regular maintenance will ensure a long, trouble-free and efficient operation of your machine.
Electromobility
GoPower offers a wide range of electric car chargers along with an intuitive management system. The offer is addressed to individual and business users.
A private electric car charger allows you to charge your vehicle comfortably at home. No need to drive anywhere or wait in lines, charge your vehicle safely, anytime, in your driveway or garage. The ability to use electricity from your own photovoltaic system is an added plus, as it allows you to drive your electric car emission-free and virtually free-of-charge.
The first option is to charge electric cars using AC. AC chargers have less power, which affects the car’s charging time. The charging power for AC units is usually up to 22 kW. In the case of GoPower 11, charging time is about 3-4 h. DC charging is more efficient and effective compared to AC charging. Charging a car with direct current, charging time is much shorter (in the case of GoPower 30 about 1.5 hours). DC type chargers can charge from as little as 30 kW to as much as 350 kW.
It all depends on your expectations. Chargers vary in power, connector type and charging speed. Our specialists will help you choose a solution tailored to your needs and system capabilities.
